I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and reared in Decatur Georgia. I achieved a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from The Fort Valley State University, a Master of Arts in Instruction from Central Michigan University, a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies from Cambridge College and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University. 

My career in education began in Atlanta Public Schools where I served as an 8th Grade Language Arts teacher, Facilitator of a Whole School Reform Model and Assistant Principal at Sylvan Hills Middle School and J.E. Brown Middle School respectively. Upon my departure from APS, I continued as an Assistant Principal at Church Street ES, Mt. Zion ES, River's Edge ES, Lovejoy Middle School and most recently Lovejoy High School all within the Clayton County Public School System. 

I have served the Ellenwood community as a Baseball Coach and Cub Scout/Boy Scout leader and also served as a School Council member for our neighborhood school. I am a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and I have been married to Dr. Omi Dobbins, a psychotherapist and school counselor for 19 years. We have three children together; Harold III (15), Harmoni (13) and Harper (9).
